An Urgent SOS Message

from someone with unresolved, serious injuries in Croatia...

I need your help and advice please...

I am stuck in Croatia with a potentially life threatening condition and minimal support from my insurance company.

NatWest sold me the benefits of travel insurance supplied by TMA (Travel Medical Assistance), as an incentive to purchase a Platinum Account with their bank. My understanding of this was that a Platinum Account would therefore include 'Platinum' travel insurance. Sadly this does not seem to be the case and I feel somewhat fooled into having been 'sold' the arrangement.

My girlfriend and I came to Croatia on 24/9/16 for a much needed holiday. On the 27/9/16 we were involved in a motorcycle accident and I was airlifted to hospital in Split.

I spent at least two days in intensive care - the initial diagnosis was two broken ribs and extreme trauma resulting in a pneumothorax to my left lung. After being treated and mistreated* in the hospital I was discharged on 5/10/16.

Having made daily calls and numerous emails to TMA, they are not answering questions, giving no assurance as to our repatriation and promising responses that are rarely received… We are still here and receiving wholly inadequate response/assistance from TMA. They have also mentioned they do not understand the medical system in Croatia... How can they insure me on this basis?

I believe the most important fact here is that on 21/10/16 I had another X-Ray that determined I had at least eight ribs damaged on my left side, one of which is completely severed and stills stands to threaten my life if I move in the wrong direction. TMA are well aware of this… What value do they put on human life?

Today’s date is 23/10/16 and we remain in a hotel room where I have had totally inadequate pain relief since being discharged from hospital together with completely inadequate medical assistance from TMA.

My general state of mind continues to decline and the ongoing, untreated pain has left me a broken man, indeed a shadow of my former self.

In order to spare others from the ordeal I have endured, I shall be writing to other relevant parties upon my return/recovery. There are many who would find my experiences of interest I'm sure.

Can anyone please help me? I'm happy to provide full details to a journalist on my return to the UK as this is far from the full story.

Please respond to @DigitalTimGrant rather then sending Direct Messages through Twitter, or if you would like to speak to me directly, please indicate so.
